📘 TeacherConnect Terms of Service
Welcome to TeacherConnect! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TeacherConnect website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), operated by TeacherConnect, Inc. (“TeacherConnect,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing or using TeacherConnect, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy (“Policy”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Purpose of TeacherConnect
TeacherConnect is an educational marketplace and funding platform that helps teachers, districts, and parents:
Purchase classroom supplies at negotiated bulk rates,
Manage verified savings through Teacher Wallets, and
Support the Title I Impact Fund, which benefits high-need schools nationwide.
Our mission is to simplify classroom funding and purchasing while increasing transparency and savings for educators.
2. Eligibility
You must:
Be at least 18 years old,
Be a teacher, school employee, parent/guardian, or district representative, and
Use the Services for lawful educational purposes only.
By registering, you confirm that you have the authority to agree to these Terms.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create a TeacherConnect account.
You agree to:
Provide accurate, current information,
Maintain confidentiality of your login credentials, and
Be responsible for all activities under your account.
You must promptly update any changes to your personal or school information to ensure accuracy.
4. Use of Services
TeacherConnect grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services solely for classroom-related activities.
You agree not to:
Use the Services for illegal, fraudulent, or commercial resale purposes.
Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with a school or organization.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data.
Upload or transmit viruses or harmful code.
Reverse engineer or copy the platform’s design, software, or content.
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.
5. Teacher Wallets & Financial Transactions
Teacher Wallets are used to store and apply verified savings from bulk purchases, contributions, or promotions.
Payouts: Funds in wallets are redeemable only for classroom supplies or verified vendor purchases within the app.
No Cash Withdrawals: Wallet credits are not cash equivalents and cannot be exchanged for currency.
Refunds: Refunds follow partner retailer or payment processor policies.
Donations: All parent/guardian donations are final once processed.
TeacherConnect partners with reputable third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Braintree). We do not store your full payment information.
6. Donations & Impact Fund
When users contribute to the Title I Impact Fund, funds are pooled and distributed directly to classrooms in qualifying Title I schools.
TeacherConnect manages allocation transparently with public reporting.
Contributions may not be tax-deductible unless processed through an authorized 501(c)(3) partner.
Donors acknowledge that TeacherConnect has discretion in distributing funds based on need.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, and design within the Services belong to TeacherConnect or its licensors.
You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute our materials except as expressly permitted.
“TeacherConnect,” “Title I Impact Fund,” and associated logos are trademarks of TeacherConnect, Inc.
8. User Content
You may upload supply lists, wishlist items, and messages (“User Content”).
By submitting content, you grant TeacherConnect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate the platform.
You retain ownership of your content and may delete it at any time.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your content:
Does not infringe third-party rights,
Complies with school and district policies, and
Is appropriate for a K–12 educational setting.
9. Third-Party Services & Links
TeacherConnect may integrate with or link to external services (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, DonorsChoose, payment processors).
We are not responsible for those platforms’ policies, content, or performance.
Use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.
10. Data Privacy & Security
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy.
We use industry-standard security and comply with FERPA, COPPA, and applicable privacy laws.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@teacherconnect.com.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the integrity of the platform.
Upon termination:
Your access to the Services will cease immediately,
Wallet balances may be forfeited if used fraudulently or in violation of policy, and
We may retain data as required by law.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
TeacherConnect provides the Services “as is” and “as available.”
We make no guarantees about availability, accuracy, or completeness.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
TeacherConnect and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid (if any) by you for the Services during the past 12 months.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TeacherConnect, its officers, directors, employees, and partners from any claims or damages arising from your:
Use of the Services,
Violation of these Terms, or
Infringement of third-party rights.
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Wayne County, Michigan, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
You waive the right to a jury trial or class action.
16. Modifications
We may update these Terms occasionally. The latest version will always appear in the app and on our website.
Your continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
